33rd Annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest

Deadline to enter October 20, 2007

October is National Fire Prevention Month. The Houston Fire Museum, in cooperation with the Houston Fire Department and the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston, invite students to use their artistic ability to help spread the fire prevention message. The contest is open to all Houston and surrounding area elementary, middle and high school students. Winning Posters will be displayed at
FireFest:
Saturday, October 27,
2007 at the Val Jahnke Training
Academy, 8030 Braniff.

All Poster Contest Winners in each grade level will be presented with ribbons and cash awards. All images will be posted on the Fire Museum website, houstonfiremuseum.org:

1st place $50 Cash Prize
2nd place $30 Cash Prize
3rd place $20 Cash Prize

Overall Grand Prize Winners:

1st place $250 Cash Prize and poster
exhibited on a billboard
2nd place $200 Cash Prize
3rd place $100 Cash Prize

The school attended by the 1st Place overall winner will receive $500 to be used for educational materials and art supplies.

Additionally, each 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will ride on fire trucks in the televised annual HEB Thanksgiving Day Parade in downtown Houston.

All posters must be delivered to the

no later than Saturday, October20, 2007.
